January 4, 2011 - The 2011 officers have been added on the Contacts page. December 1, 2010 Club Meeting I would like to thank everyone for the great turnout at the meeting. We accomplished a lot of business and had a good time doing it. Highlights from the meeting Matt should have the windshield stickers for the next meeting there will be 20 white and 20 silver for club members Tom and Mike made the Thanksgiving donation for Betty's Blue Angels and will be working on the Christmas Donation The Blue Ribbon Coalition donation has gone out in the mail Mark has put together a package for T shirts for the club. I will put together a separate e-mail outlining the program.
The December Run will be this Saturday December 4th meeting at Murrish Market at 8:30 am and heading to the South Fork Area. We have guaranteed snow - this should be a great run. The January Run will be on Sunday January 16th meeting at the Chevron Station in Valley West at 8:30 and heading to the Titlow Hill Area. Shane won the 50/50 raffle and donated it back to the club. November 3, 2010 Club Meeting We held our November meeting on Wednesday November 3rd. We were able to give the owners of La Chapartia the Renner gift card in appreciation of them providing us a nice place to hold our meetings. They really appreciated it. They will be open on December 1st so we will be able to hold our regular meeting there. The facebook page is gaining momentum. If you have a favorite picture throw it on there. Tommy will be busy rounding up the gift cards for Betty's Blue Angels. He will give them to Mike and he will give them to Betty. Mark was able to get a good deal on T Shirts through Solo. He will be getting a order sheet to fill out. We should have our donations handed out to see where we are at with funds so we perhaps can move ahead. Steve won the 50/50 raffle and donated it back to the club. Our run this month is a campout or a day run to Black Lassic. Last year we camped near the mountain which was very sheltered from the wind. The night run to Senteney rock was beautiful with the stars out. It is much less intimidating when you can't see over the edge. We will leave Murrish Market in Hydesville at 8:30 am on Saturday November 13th. Elections are coming up in December. Thanks, Paul
September 1, 2010 Club Meeting We had a great turnout for out September meeting. Here are the highlights (If you could call them that) Our Facebook page is up and running. There was an email that went out with the login earlier. If you do not have it please let me know and I will get it to you. We will see how the page evolves, If you have some pictures please post them up! Matt Ruchong will be checking with a person on the windshield banners. Paul will have samples of the ATV flags at the October meeting The Lost Coast Group will be doing the annual river bar cleanup on Sunday September 12th at 9:30. This is a worthwhile event that helps keep our access to the Eel River Area open. Our September Run will to Senteney Rock in the Mad River Area on Saturday September 18th. We will meet at Murrish Market at 8:30 am for a full day of wheeling. The October run is a campout to Lake Pillsbury near Ukiah. Steve will be heading down on Friday October 8th. If you want to go down early please contact Steve. The next group will leave the Shell Station in Rio Dell at 6:30am on Saturday Morning. We have been staying at the Fuller Grove Campground on Lake Pillsbury. This is a fun run. Not too far from home, a nice camp spot and wonderful scenery and some good wheeling. July 7, 2010 Club Meeting We had our regular monthly meeting at LaChaparitta in Eureka, Our run for this month is the Rodeo Parade. Steve is the trip leader and has sent out information on the meeting place and time. We will be looking good as Steve will be sporting his new rig. After the parade is pizza and then a river bar run. If anyone is interested in the Auto Expo please give Paul a call. Matthew and I will set up at the show and shine with the banner, flyers and a DVD of some of our runs. Tentatively The Fordyce run is August 8th 9th and 10th. You can contact Mike Munson for more details The September Dusy run is scheduled for the week of September 18-25 2010 We have penciled in a run to Black Lassic for November, a firm date will be set at the next meeting It was motioned and seconded that we make Corey Johnson a honorary member. Corey is serving overseas and Fat Rat and numerous business are fixing up his Jeep and presenting it back to him at Auto Expo. The membership packet and a club hat will delivered to Matt for presentation to Corey. Tony won the 50/50 Raffle that he donated back. We have two new members, Jason Maciel (Black YJ) and Jeremy Maciel (Red Unlimited) have joined the club. Welcome aboard. The new member packets have been made up and we will hand them out at the next meeting. I have been catching up on membership cards. If anyone needs one please let me know. We had a great turn out for our May meeting. As it was Cinco de Mayo our restaurant was busy. Business from the meeting: It was voted and approved that we change the dues structure from 30.00 for an individual and 40.00 for a family to a 30.00 flat rate for anyone or family.A tentative run schedule has been set up for the upcoming months. We can finalize and change the schedule as the dates approach. May 22nd 23rd - Lake Pillsbury Camp Out- Steve will be heading down on Friday the 21st. Paul and Chris will leave on Saturday Morning the 22nd from the Shell Station in Rio Dell leaving at 6:30 am. We may be meeting up with a group from Santa Rosa 4x4 for a group cleanup of Hull Mountain. We had a great time on last year's trip. June 13th - Samoa Beach Day - We will meet at the Samoa Recreation Area at 11am. Tommy is bringing his BBQ. The club will provide the meat and buns please bring along a side dish for a potluck. Chris and I did a beach run a couple of months ago. This run can be as laid back or as challenging as you like.
July 17th - Fortuna Rodeo Parade - Steve is checking with the Boys and Girls Club of Humboldt for young people that would like to ride along - We will follow up with a trip to the River Bar after lunch and the parade. Details to follow August 12th - Fordyce Trail - Check out the pictures on the website for a glimpse of what is in store. All who went last year had a great time. Details to be worked out. Bring your snorkel. September 19th - Dusy Ershim Trail - One I have been looking forward to for years. See Jim and Mikes write up on website. All details to follow. As you can see it will be a busy summer of wheeling. If anyone has a favorite run that was left out we can see what we can do to squeeze it in. Onward! Paul
April 7, 2010 Club Meeting We had our regular club meeting WEDNESDAY April 7, 2010 at LaChaprita. We sat close to the windows as the power was out during the meeting and dinner. It wasn't the first time we have eaten a meal in the dark together. Here are some of the topics discussed 1) We have brochures made up and will be distributing a few around to local businesses. We will also tag a few off road rigs in parking lots with the brochures. If you would like a few to keep in your rig or have a favorite shop we will have some at the next meeting or contact Paul and he will get you some 2) Chris has found another vendor that will silkscreen ROC gear. We will need to wait for a larger group to decide on how we will proceed. Tommy reminded us he has a person that will embroider sweatshirts, Jackets and Hats any time. 3) We have a demonstration day set up with Fortuna High on Friday April 23rd.Classes run from 8:30 to 11:30. We received quite a bit of positive input last year from the demonstration. We need rigs for the event and encourage anyone that can come do so. Thanks Steve for setting this up with Fortuna High. 4) The treasurer's balance was 325.92. Our next run is scheduled for Sunday April 25 Meeting at Fernbridge at 9am. See you at the next run! Paul
March 3, 2010 Club Meeting 03-03-10 Highlights from the March Meeting. 1) Jim Boyett updated the brochures. Paul Adams will have some printed and available at the next meeting. 2) Chris Carlotti has the jpeg for the ROC logo's and will be looking into costs for T shirts, sweatshirts and hats. 3) We agreed we would like to do the rodeo parade again this year as well as the Fortuna Auto Shop demonstration. Paul will contact Steve for information. 4) We had discussion on having a few rigs in Autoexpo and Cruising Eureka for some club exposure. We all agreed that the February Run was an epic adventure. Thanks to Steve for leading the event and to Jim for posting the pictures to the website. Our next run will be on Sunday March 21st meeting at 8:30 at the Chevron Station in Valley West for a run up to the Titlow Hill Area. See you on the trail Paul
